You might be asking yourself "What is a rally?". Dave would describe a typical rally as a bunch a people who share a love of scooters and get together for rides, music, contests, raffles, and gymkhana (an obstacle course). I would add a bunch of people talking about scooters, admiring scooters, doing crazy stunts, seeing the town, entertainment and eating. Oh- and I would also add that a lot of people like to bar hop- which I think is incredibly stupid when you are operating a moving vehicle. In fact, many people look forward to going to a rally just so they can get hammered. But that is not our rally.
This year, Provophenia 9 was all about one thing - riding our scooters. We went on rides we've never done before. One of my pet peeves about rallies is how much people stand around talking, inhaling 2T oil fumes, instead of actually riding. There is too much stop and starting. We changed all that this year. Dave (an excellent guide) led us both days all over the place and we did more riding than anything. The weather was absolutely perfect and the leaves were changing. Keeping with the theme "The Hills Have Y's" we took to the hills of this beautiful valley. We saw forests, mountains, rivers, red rock, lakes, and hills. The glow of the ride still hasn't worn off. We didn't indulge in any of the usual frills of scooter rallies- we just rode and I think it was the best rally we've had in nine years.

hey Tyler- why are you the only one without a helmet?
we ended up at The Trolley in Springville after riding through Goshen Canyon and around West Mountain - none of us took pictures of that long stretch (which is sad because it was so scenic)- we were all enjoying the long stretches of country roads lined by sunflowers, orchards and the lake shoreline

We'd like to thank those who helped The Scooter Lounge plan this year's rally:
Zac for coming up with the theme.
Sean for cooking up a delicious barbecue at Nunn's park after the ride Friday Night.
Marty for doing the best job we've ever seen at controlling traffic so we didn't get separated.
Tru for driving the support truck.
Jeremy's family for hooking us up with drinks, chips and salsa at The Trolley.
And Utah for being a gorgeous state to scoot around in.
