Got to Go Back Soon

We just got back from a camping trip in Zion National Park. It was so great. I loved it. Whenever I go to places like this I get a little anxious. It's not because I miss home or am worried about anything in particular. Rather, it's because I feel like I can't grab and hold on. This may sound a little strange, but it's like I want to be a part of the landscape. I want to eat it or be buried in it or soak in it somehow. I feel anxious that I can't do enough or see enough or experience enough. It is overwhelming to be in a place so beautiful and raw. Every time we go camping I wonder why we don't do it more often.

Ray-Ray mainly spent his time finding lizards, frogs and tadpoles. Little D and cousin Sam collected rocks, slid down sandstone, and dug in the mud. Lou spent her time rolling in the dirt and throwing sand. I tried to take time to hike the trails near the Virgin River and listen. David tried to take it easy.

Looks like fun! We didn't go camping at all this year. I guess we will try harder next year!

Gorgeous country, Kaerlig. It might even rival AK but on the other end of the spectrum. You think?

I'm jealous! Looked like great trip. That's one thing we didn't do this summer that I wish we would have. I love camping.
